Trouble with no sound on Apple 4k

Have the new Apple 4K tv and have trouble with no sound at times. Most noticeable is when playing the next episode on an Apple+ TV show. I have to back out of the app or restart the box to restore the sound. It’s running through eArc on my Denon x6700 receiver and then to my Sony 900H tv. I’ve tried different HDMI cables, so that’s not the issue and just wondering if it’s not compatible with either my Denon, Sony, or the eArc. All items are current and up to date on the software.

Great, you may want to read https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207117 if you have not had the chance to already. If you have already looked it over, please take a moment to re-read in case you may have missed something.


Also, always try basics such as:


  • Turning off your modem and router and then repower.
  • If you use Wi-Fi to connect, please check the Apple TV is getting a strong signal from your router. This can be an issue if you have a larger home (over 1200 sq. ft.,) have a lot of Wi-Fi devices, home construction and layout.
  • Unplug the Apple TV form it's power source for 2-3 minutes.
