Airdrop issues on the MacBook Air

Why does my MacBook air not accept photos via airdrop from iPhone? It was working just fine and now it just won't accept files from my phone. I have updated my mac, restarted both the MacBook and phone. Nothing yet. Please help.

Did you reboot your router? Also with Big Sur:

  1. On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window.
  2. In the Finder sidebar, click AirDrop.
  3. In the AirDrop window, click the “Allow me to be discovered by” pop-up menu, then choose an option.

I have a similar problem. I can see my iPhone and iPad in the AirDrop window and can send files to them from my MacBook Air but it will not accept files/photos from either of them, even though they they're trying to send them.

All are signed into the same iCloud account and on the same Wifi network.

My Firewall has 'Block All Incoming Connections' box unchecked.

I've turned everything off and back on again.
