Dual screen Imac 2011 and Macbook Pro 2020 M1

Hi,

Ive tried to connect my Imac 2011 and Macbook Pro 2020 M1. from thunderbolt 2 port using thunderbolt 2 wire connected to thunderbolt 2 to usb c on my macbook pro. tried to do command f2, havent logged in on both computers then put the cable, still its not working.

What would be the right cable should I be using to have dual screen?

dual screen I have a new iMac on MAC OS Monterey and want to dual screen too an old Mac running High Sierra. I have purchased a thunderbolt cable from the apple store. after discussing with the team what I want to do. Ive followed the instructions using Command F2 but nothing happens. Ive watched so many tube vids I can't see what is wrong- any ideas?

Connection Question I am looking to use my iMac 2020 as a second screen for my MacBook Air (2013) but not sure what cable I need to achieve this? I understand that the MacBook is Thuderbolt 1/2 and the iMac Thunderbolt 3, but confused when looking on Amazon etc. Any advice or help is much appreciated.

No modern Mac can be used with Target Display mode.
