Files app search fails for Dropbox

I added Dropbox as "Location" to the Files app and I can browse Dropbox files fine. However, the Files search does not see any files in my Dropbox. For example, the search claims there are no files starting with "x" in my Dropbox, even though I can literally see x.pdf in my main Dropbox folder in Files on my iPad.

I had this problem on my iPadOS 14 and hoped it will go away in iPadOS 15, but it is still there!

Anticipating some comments: I am aware that iPad can only "see" the current Dropbox folder.

Reinstalling Files didn't help.

We understand you want help with managing files on the iPad with Dropbox. From what we are understanding the files are there but can't be searched. Is that correct?

View files and folders in Files on iPad

Go over other steps you've tried like restarting the iPad or reinstalling the Dropbox app.

You may need to Contact Apple Support if this continues.
