Beats Flex Mute phone call

Is there a way to mute a phone call? All the pause/play button seems to do is answer/hangup a phone call on Android devices.

Mute button is permanently on so I can't hear callers how do I remove this I cant take calls because the mute button is on but I can't remove it - any suggestions?
