Can a device be added back if lost

I removed my old I Pad and mailed it to my niece. It was lost while being shipped, can I add it back to track it?

lost iPad I left my iPad on a train and while I am waiting to see if it can be found I am using an old ipad. I'm trying to restore some of the apps I use daily on this old iPad in the meanwhile. I don't want to erase the new iPad since I still have hope it might be found (it shows location on "find my phone"). By updating the software on the old ipad will I be erasing the new one?

iFind on iPad missing I need to find my iPad but when I purchased a new iPhone I had to turn off the iFind. When I received my new phone there was no iFind but something called MyFind which I could never get to work. When I log onto iCloud I don’t see my device for my iPad. Is there a way I can somehow restore that information or still find my I find my iPad ? Thank you.

You would need to physically have the device to add it back to your account.
