Magic Keyboard

I use a magic keyboard with my iPad. But - when I'm working on a text, and press the return key, it sends the text - even though I'm not finished or ready to send.

How to change that feature?

Any way to stop the Return key on an iPad Magic Keyboard from sending messages? For some reason, hitting the “Return” key on the Magic Keyboard causes a message (in the Messages app) to be sent right away instead of just moving down to start a new line like it would on an iPhone or iPad onscreen keyboard. Is there any way to turn off that setting so that the return key on the Magic Keyboard behaves like the return key on an iPhone? (I use numerous iOS devices and I end up accidentally sending partial messages from the iPad because the return key performs a different function when I attach the Magic Keyboard. Maybe there is some good reason to offer that OPTION, but the system should at least offer users the choice of making the hardware keyboard perform exactly the same as the iOS software keyboards.) Magic Keyboard not working with Text Expander, how can I make it work? I’ve set up text expander on my iPad by adding a Keyboard. It works perfectly on the touchscreen, but does not work on the magic keyboard. I have tried switching the keyboard using the globe key and a selection screen pops up. I can select the emoji keyboard, however, when I select the Text Expander Keyboard it doesn’t work. Is there a setting that needs to be changed or is the magic keyboard not so magic when it comes to using a different keyboard?

Thanks! The extra key stroke is definitely worth it - when not wanting to send a message quite yet.
