Feed back loop of asking for password

I was Trying to check my media purchases (like I usually do, to see how much I’ve spent and whatnot) and I am In this beyond infuriating feedback loop of apple asking for my password - when I enter it, it pauses and looks like it’s doing something and bam, asks again. I’ve googled everything. Turned my phone on and off several times. Disconnected from the WiFi and connected to a different one as well. I changed My password too. What am I doing Wrong?

also please excuse the random words capitalized that shouldn’t be; I’m too irritated to fix my grammar right now.

Use the same Apple ID every time you sign-in to use all Apple services like the App Store, iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.

Where can I use my Apple ID?

You can sign in to all Apple services with a single Apple ID and password.

Your Apple ID is the account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. It contains the email address and password you use to sign in, plus all of the contacts, payment, and security details you use for all Apple services.

Here are some of the most common services that you can access to your Apple ID:

  • App Store & Apple Arcade
  • Apple Books
  • Apple Music & Music Purchases
  • Apple News
  • Apple Online Store
  • Apple Pay, Apple Card and Apple Cash
  • Apple Podcasts
  • Apple Retail Services and Programs (Concierge, Joint Venture, Workshops and Youth Programs)
  • Apple Store App
  • Apple Support Communities
  • AppleTV, Apple TV +, and Apple TV channels
  • FaceTime
  • ShareFamilies
  • Find My
  • Game Center
  • iCloud
  • iMessage
  • iTunes
  • Sign in to Apple

The problem is I got The first generation iPhone when it came out. It was great. Over the years I’ve forgotten and had to make a new Apple ID for it. So I currently Have two Apple ID’s running on the same phone (iPhone xs) everything was literally fine until the last update a day or two ago. The people at the apple store always say there’s no way for me to merge both of my Apple ID’s which is also quite frustrating because it would solve a lot of my problems. Having my current email and apple id fresh in my mind but having to find the old one and it’s password for purchases because I originally forgot the first one. (This is a giant mess of emails and accounts and forgotten passwords). My problem is I dont Want to start all over with a new apple id and lose all the music and books and apps I’ve purchased over the years because I’m dumb. Can you help?
