screen time not restricting restricting facetime after set time

I have time limits setup on my daughter's iphone to restrict usage to 3 hours per day, however Facetime is not listed in the apps that are counted or restricted by this rule. Her usage shows that she was on Facetime for 9 hours yesterday. Why is facetime not included in screen time restrictions?

Welcome GGorn,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you can't restrict the FaceTime app in Screen Time on your daughter's iPhone. We'll do our best to help out.

Could you have FaceTime set up as 'Always Allowed' under Settings > Screen Time > tap your daughter's name at the bottom > Always Allowed? If it's listed at the top, tap the (-) sign to remove it from the list. This will show up under the (+) section, if you wish to ever add it back.

In iOS 14.6, you can also set a limit for this app in Settings > Screen Time > tap your daughter's name > App Limits > Social > FaceTime > Next at the top > then set a time limit that you prefer >make sure 'Block at End of Limit' is checked > then tap 'Add' to save your changes.

If some how this is how you've set it up originally and she's some how bypassing Screen Time, please have a discussion to determine how and Contact Apple Support

Hoping this helps out, take care!

Thank you for the reply, but this does not help the problem. Screen Time is not tracking the amount of time that the phone is using Facetime. Please understand what I am saying- Screen Time shows that "com.apple.facetime" was used for 5 secs yesterday, but in reality the phone was used for over 3 hours of Facetime. So, I have already done the steps that you have suggested, but if the Screen Time settings are not accurately tracking the amount of time Facetime is used, then the time limit I set will never be reached.

Why is the Facetime app not being tracked properly by Screen Time?
