VPN Connection

A box with the above heading just appeared (first time ever) on my iPad screen asking for password. When entered, it stated "authentication failed". Now I can't get rid of the box and it won't allow me to access the iPad. I had the VPN for 2 years without problems. What is going on? Have emailed them and waiting on response. Does anyone at Apple know about this and how to get delete the box so I can use iPad? Thanks

Hello again:) Try the restart link that Rudegar posted. Although general restarts and resets are likely to solve most issues, if it persists, it may be worthwhile to delete the VPN app and try to reinstall. Furthermore, consider deleting the app and trying a new service altogether. Perhaps there is a problem with the VPN service you are using itself.

Thanks for all the suggestions. After a major David and Goliath battle with the VPN Authentication box on the home screen (it kept bouncing back each time I clicked DELETE) I eventually managed to find the VPN in Settings and turned it OFF. iPad is now back (Hallelujah!) and I can use it. I seriously doubt I will re-install the VPN.


I have concerns that this is happening on an APPLE product whereas I have no problems with it on my android mobile phone and desktop computer. Any thoughts??

Hello:) Good work! When you discuss VNP’s for Apple devices you will get lots of different opinions. I don’t find a need for one but if you access a private corporate network or use a public WiFi a lot then makes sense. I am just glad you worked it through and let us know. Hope to see you here again…you could help those who need to fight a VPN battle.
