How to get the owner information from MacBook hard disk?

Hi,

I am in big trouble. I have a macbook mid 2012 model which had some issue. Upon checking with authorized service centre, I got to know that motherboard is damaged. They said apple don't manufacture original components for this model anymore as it has been released a long time back. So, I went to an unauthorized local shop and he said he can arrange a refurbished motherboard so I gave it to him for repair. Now, what that guy did was swapped my harddisk with some other guy's macbook harddisk. The stupidest thing he did was, he didnt take any contact information from him. So basically I have my harddisk with a stranger whose contact details I don't have. Also, the shop guy told me that the other person's macbook couldnt be repaired so I doubt he can even check if the harddisk connected to his macbook is mine. I got to know when I tried to log-in after boot-up and it showed other person's account information.

I want to know if using harddisk serial number or any other way I can get the person's email address from where I can get to him? This harddisk is password protected.

I am getting anxious as my personal information is with someone else and I dont remember if that is password protected even.

Thanks for your reply. I know I did a blunder. But someone else is having all my personal information and I dont want to leave things to fate.

If your HD/SSD was encrypted no one has access to your information, even if you never see your old drive again.

You need a password to access an account/information stored...
