Ios 14.7 after update my face id is not working

Same exact problem happening. Restarted my phone 3 times. Still doesn’t work. Fix my **** please.

Apple diagnostics check for the presence of a component, the dot projector will still be recognised by the phone but will not function as intended.

Any news on that topic? Even after IOS 15 the issue is not fixed. Thanks for your input.

will changing the front camera fix this ?

I’ve the same problem. After 14.7 update Face ID was disabled. Support Apple doing diagnosis and said me that the iPhone haven’t problems, but face id not work actually.

Welcome to the party.

Apple know it’s their problem but knowingly they simply putting it as hardware failure and advised to buy new phone or upgrade.

Nobody here knows either way. We are users like you. It's true there does seem a to be a small increase in the number of iphone X and XS face ID problems in the forum but Apple will not see any trend unless users contact them or complete a bug report in Product Feedback - Apple: (They don't read this forum routinely)

Considering several hundred million iphone X out there its a very small blip. Maybe wait for an update or more info before paying out on hardware.

Try resetting Face ID in Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Reset Face ID. And set it up all over again.
