If you downloaded and installed the printer driver from the printer manufacturer's website, then see if they have an updated version of the app & driver. It is best to use the default AirPrint driver (or whatever macOS installs when you select "Autoselect") when adding & configuring the printer in System Preferences. I try to minimize the amount of third party apps installed on my computers especially third party software that installs proprietary drivers that can easily break when the OS is updated.
Or perhaps the photoconductor on your printer has finally reached its "end of life" or reached its maintenance period and it is just coincidental that you just updated macOS. Does your printer actually have an LCD configuration menu panel on the printer? If so, see what the status of the printer and its components as this will be a status outside of any OS on your computer.
On some printers you may need to print a configuration or demo page in order to see the information.
