Foreign Music/Artist Pronunciation / Second Language on Siri?

Hi,

is there any way/workaround to make Siri understand a foreign (non-English) language (or at least music/albums pronounciation) that is alternatively spoken in the household?

In my case Siri is set up U.S./English and I have tons of German artist music that is also on iTunes/Apple Music U.S.; I also speak German.

On most of my albums I am absolutely not able to bend the pronunciation of German song titles “right” so Siri remotely understands me. The only way I can do it is to trick my way through “last played” or so. Other than that I end up on my iPad or iPhone and streaming whatever I want to listen to, which misses the purpose of running Siri in the first place.

I find this kind of frustrating, especially as I can confirm in the other way round the German set up Siri recognizes English Artists/Songs pronunciation pretty well. Don’t want to change it to German, as my wife otherwise would talk to a brick.

Can’t be the only one in the U.S. with that issue… can you imagine finding e.g. French Music on American Apple Music by voice prompt? 😕  Am I missing anything in the settings?

This feature does not exist. There are various accents of English but German isn’t there. If there are favourite songs you like to listen to in your Apple Music collection, you could try creating playlists. This way you only need ask Siri to play xxx playlist.

That’s what I thought. Would not wanna talk to her in German, but requesting a specific song or artist the way it is actually pronounced would be nice. Well…

Asking an American Siri what she is currently playing for pronunciation reference is RIDICULOUS. You cannot scramble words any more.

At the same time pulling the original pronunciation (from the release country I guess) into the database totally works at Apple vice versa. Asking a German trained Siri to play any English artist/song (in actual English pronunciation) is absolutely no issue.
