nsurlsessiond overloading internet connection with constant upload of data - Virus or worm issue?

Macbook Pro internet connection speed grinds to a halt even though there is no problem with modem or speed. Very frustrating, virtually impossible to use anything that needs connection. Anyone have an idea why this nsurlsessiond process eats so much bandwidth? In Activity Viewer it is constantly uploading and downloading data. Please help!

nsurlsessiond overloading internet connection with constant upload of data - Could this be a Virus issue?

CleanMyMac X says all is fine, no malware or virus detected, even with deep scan.

No, but it could be a CleanMyMac X issue...

nsurlsessiond is the process that is used by iCloud to sync your iCloud Drive/Photos/Contacts/etc between your mac and the iCloud server. Other apps have access to nsurlsessiond as well.

If it is isolated to iCloud issue, sign out and back in again

Sign out of iCloud on your ..Mac...

I would suggest you Start here: How to uninstall CleanMyMac X

First big error was to download & install & run CleanMyMac. Strongly suggest removing it via the Developers Specific Instructions. It may also be required to reinstall the OS from Recovery Mode to replace elements of the OS that may have been removed by CMM and to replace corrupted elements of the OS. Thusly, put the OS right again.

Yes, this application may be available from the Apple Apps Store but if one were to check these ASC Forums - this CMM is known to damage the OS to the pint of having to reinstall it.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so, is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS. And CleanMyMac is in this category
