ipad pro suddenly not charging

So last night my iPad Pro was charging, when I saw it was at 100% I unplugged the charger and continued watching Netflix, fell asleep and when I woke up through the night noticed it was showing the low power message to plug it in. I pressed the power button quickly to put it into sleep mode instead of having to charge it then, so I would charge it when I woke up in the morning. When I plugged the charger in this morning it didn't want to charge at all, at first I thought it might be my cable but after trying other cables without success I plugged it into my old iPad and it worked immediately. I tried a reset by holding the home and power button but it didn't fix it. So I'm left thinking it must be the charging port seeing that it's not picking up plugging any cables into it, only trouble I'm having with that thought is that the iPad didn't move since the last time it was plugged in and charging yesterday, so I can't see how just unplugging the charger like I always do could have damaged the port on the iPad so suddenly.

Another thing is that 2 days ago the iPad did freeze up and I had to use the power and home button to restart it, so now I'm not sure if it might be a software issue that's causing this as I seen videos of people saying it might be an software issue that can cause it to not charge. Was just wondering if the port is flimsy enough that something could have happened to it while pulling the charging cable from it normally or if it can still be something to do with the software, even though resetting it didn't seem to do anything.

Its not a new ipad even though I haven't had it for long, it's a IPad Pro Model A1701 which I purchased from the Apple Store Pre Owned department about 3 months ago. I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so to take it in if it's broken would mean quite a big trip for me so I just want to try everything I can before going to a Apple Store. My old iPad 4 was rock solid and never gave me any issues in the years I used it before getting the iPad Pro so I'm struggling to accept that the iPad Pro isn't as reliable as the iPad 4.

Im not sure what if any guarantee comes with products bought from the Apple pre owned store or how much it's gonna cost to fix the port if that is what is broken.

The iPad is exactly like it was when I received it still and I've been using only the original iPad lightning cable and iPad charger they gave me with the iPad when I bought it. Cables and charger works on my old iPad 4 so it's not a cable or charger issue.

I admit I did not scrupulously read your rather lengthy post.

Yea thanks, already chatted to support which could only tell me to make appointment to take it in to get serviced. Was hoping someone would have some more advice or methods for me to try or maybe had the same issue before and managed to fix it without having to take it in to a Apple Store. I just can't understand how the port could break overnight without anyone touching the iPad, anyway I will have to manage with my stone age iPad 4 until I can get to a Apple Store some time.

Thanks for taking time to reply to my post anyway..
