How to open a link in YouTube app instead of safari

I have the premium version of youtube on my ipad and want to open links to YouTube in my YoutTube app and not in my browser on on ipad. How can i do this with ios 14.6

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.


Can you please try searching for a YouTube video using Google? Any video will be fine. From there, press and hold on the YouTube.com link and choose 'Open in YouTube'. After that, go back to Safari and test a different link. The link should automatically route to the YouTube app from this point on.
