iCloud not working with Outlook 2007 and Windows10

I've been using iCloud with Outlook 2007 and a WIndows 7 PC with no problems for some years, but last week I upgraded to a Windows 10 PC. Outlook 2007 was installed on that (as part of my Microsoft Office 2007) and then I installed iCloud and logged in and was surprised to see a message saying that Outlook 2007 isn't compatible with iCloud.

This doesn't make sense as they were working fine together with Windows 7. I see 2017 community correspondence about this, but nothing recent. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

Many thanks, in hope.

Thank you!  Yes – that’s what I’m having trouble with, but I'm afraid that the system requirement info is no help.

I’ve been using iCloud with Outlook 2007 (as part of Office 2007) on a Windows 7 PC for years with no problem.  I have an

iCloud email address (which I don’t use much), but many of my contacts in are iCloud and these have all worked nicely on PC and my iPad Mini 4.

Now I’ve just upgraded to a Windows 10 PC, I get a message that iCloud isn’t compatible with Outlook 2007.

I know this isn’t true because I’ve been using the two together quite happily.  The info tells me to change to Microsoft 365,

but there is no way I am going to do that and commit myself to a monthly charge forever when I like Office 2007 and it does all I want.

Looking back at past community discussions in 2017, I see mention of fixes for this problem in terms of removing patches.

Please can you advise on this process?

With many thanks, Vesta_cat
