All: Running Big Sur 11.4 with Chrome 91.0.4472.164 and all of my bookmarks in that app have suddenly disappeared (NB: Every auto-login was also disabled). Looking into Time Machine through the past couple of weeks when those bookmarks were active doesn't show any "Google" folder at the end of Mac HD > Username > Library.
Yikes! Any tips, ideas or condolences in re-creating them all? With thanks,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. After reviewing your post, it seems like you are missing your Chrome bookmarks. We definitely understand that can be a concern and we'd love to help. Let’s start our investigation by determining exactly when this happens. First, see if they are present when you boot into safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode.
Next, see if they are present when logging into a second user account on your Mac. If you don’t already have one, don’t make a new one as they won’t be present there.

You were on precisely the right track: The issue did in fact stem from a second "user account," though in Chrome, not on the Mac. Seems a second "Profile" within the app was somehow created (by, um, me, I guess) and the bookmarks only appeared in the original profile. So yes: Following your suggestion led to finding the real issue & resolving it.
