LG C1 OLED Burn In sort of

Ok so I've reached out to LG and am waiting on a response.


My findings are shown in the screen shot below.

Whenever the background screens are set to any of the following images day/night a drop shadow of sort starts to form around text boxes.

Not sure if this is an M1 software issue. Or an LG firmware issue. It literally only seems to happen when any of these images are used.

So it turns out it's the Logo Brightness feature. It doesn't like those backgrounds. Turning it off completely solved the issue.

Turn off "auto anything" or any other "dynamic" functions on the display and see if you get the same results.

Also, if in the Mac Display Preferences, you have HDR enabled, turn it off as well. Some of those functions are great when viewing movies but quite often can be problematic when using a computer.


If this phenomenon goes away, then start turning those functions back on one by one until the symptom reoccurs.
