My iPhone battery always dies at 10%. No warning. Just goes.

I read about how to check for your battery's health, and it says "Maximum capacity 81%".

And optimised battery charging is enabled.

But surely it should still warn when it is technically "low". I was replying to a message and it went dead. I plugged it in and it was on 10% after it booted up again.

It's becoming a problem! As you get no warning, because of course 10% is the warning level.

What can I do that won't cost me an Apple Fortune?

If a battery is sick then neither the health nor the remaining charge can be relied upon.

One thing you can try that is no longer recommended, (but you can't do any more damage) is:

Charge to 100% and leave on charge one extra hour.

Run it down using bright screen on no lockout and flash light til it goes off then leave one hour.

Charge to 100% and leave on charge one extra hour.

Take off charge and immediately Force restart the phone

  • forced restart
