Microsoft Teams Compatibility

I used to be able to share my screen using using the Microsoft Teams desktop app on my MacBook Pro but ever since upgrading to Big Sur I can't share. Currently version 11.4. Camera and video still work fine, but when trying to share my screen, it just spools endlessly. Is there any way to fix this? Is Apple doing anything to improve compatibility?

Right now my work-around is to use the Teams web app on Chrome -- but I can't change or add a background photo on that version of Teams -- so it's all very frustrating.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support communities. We understand that you are having trouble sharing your screen using Microsoft Teams app. We would love to provide you support on this.

The Microsoft Teams app is a third party app that can be developed to be compatible with Apple devices as it is now, however sometimes not all components are compatible with the OS version.

Apple develops it's software for compatibility with the apps that they develop and that is native to the device and usually the third party app developer creates an update of their app to be compatible with various OS versions between Mac and other manufacturers.

If you are unable to share your screen when using the Microsoft Teams app you should reach out to Microsoft to see if they have a compatible version that is best used for Mac OS Big Sur 11.4: Microsoft Teams Help

We would also recommend updating to the latest version of Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.1
