Battery drain in iOS 14.7.1

I’m experiencing the same battery drain issue one day after upgrading to 14.7.1. My battery dropped from 100% to 19% overnight for my Iphone 12! It just idle! What are you doing Apple! I only install this patch to close the backdoor to pegasus something that you people opened up!

I tried some things last week, such as to reset all settings and content but the problem remains. Before iOS 14.7.1 I used to charge only when going to sleep 11PM and the battery used to have 30%, now I need to recharge close to 7PM, battery with 10%.

after updated to iOS 14.7.1 yesterday morning, soon my iPhone’s battery dropped to 10% without touching it, it reoccurred every couple hours, like watching a horror movie! Is this the hint to get a new smart phone :(

Yes, I too am experiencing horrific battery drain. Even with my phone “dumbed-down” with everything

de-activated and NO apps/programs running in background, no refresh, no email push, no nothing…even in battery save mode and airplane mode….

my phone's battery is trying to commit suicide.

I have an extremely well taken care of iPhone 6s that has experienced little to no issues…..until this flaky iOS 14.7.1 update happened.

Same I got the 12 pro max and my battery used to last almost 2 days on a single charge. Ever since iOS 14.6 the battery has been draining even when I’m not doing anything. Now I’m lucky if it lasts a couple hours without having to recharge it.

I updated to 14.7.1 yesterday and have since been astonished at how quickly my phone (SE 2016) has now been draining... which is what led me to this thread. Performed the "Reset Network" that was suggested here and it seems to be holding MUCH better! Thank you!

It seems turning off "Item Safety Alerts" in "Find My -> Profile" helped me a lot. Taken the phone from change at 10, now is ~19, and the charge is 92.

Another thing I think helped me also is that I turned off "push" in Mail, and set mail fetch to manual, but that is what I'm not 100% sure.

I have just updated my iPhone XS Max with 14.7.1. My battery is draining fast and the signal of my phone is worse and when I'm connected to my home wifi it's running slow.

My wifi is fine on other devices as I'm getting 200 mbps

I have 12 mini, was experiencing very fast drain (100% the night before, then 20% by 10am!). Was getting "your iPhone has been used more than usual since upgrading iOS " msg. but I know I have not. 

Seems much improved after resetting network settings.  In settings, General > Reset > Reset Network settings. (have your wifi pw handy because will need to type it in again)

It actually is much worse. I’m having the phone plugged in and watching Amazon Video, and the battery doesn’t charge! What have you done Apple? I don’t want to go through the pain of downgrading but seems this is the only option for now. Resetting Network setting didn’t help.

Killzone_Kid ~ The long process of applying an iOS update can kill a weak, aging battery. Is your iPhone 6S Plus's battery still the original one?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

not doing anything, it was working perfectly before the update, phone bought new less than 2 years ago (old stock). Thank you for your suggestion for changing the battery but no thanks. The burden is on Apple and their crooked update, so please stop making it like it is my phone.

14.7.0 started the battery drain problem on my 6s and 14.7.1 seems to make it worse. I have the apple extra battery pack and the phone keeps shutting itself off (peak power issue) or my battery fully drains in minutes! Argh, Apple, why are you so bad at this?!?

On iOS and iPad OS 14.7.1 I am experiencing increased background usage even though background app refresh is turned off. I also got the message saying that the device was being used more than usual after the 14.7.1 update.

Of course you’re going to blame the battery! But only a week ago, before 14.7 or 14.7.1 EVERYTHING WAS JUST FINE! The last time I looked the battery was at 85%, now it’s “down to 69%” It charges upbto 100% and then I can watch it go down 99, 98, 97, 96… all in a matter of seconds. Then it randomly shuts off. When it powers back on, and it’s plugged in, it might say it’s at 97-100%, or it might show the phone is at 1% EVEN THOUGH ITS STILL PLUGGED IN AND WAS JUST AT 100%

This update did something to my battery performance.

I do not appreciate this ‘forced obsolescence’ and you cannot deny this as it’s been proven many times!
