Live Listen connect a compatible audio device

when I press hearing option, after I connect my airpods 2 wireless charging, its asks to connect compatible device. it's basically new, just got 'em. so what can I do in this case? I tried all the options such as restarting phone, changing hearing options, etc. can anyone tell me what to do?
