Macbook hinge

Hi! I currently own a M1 Macbook Air. So i noticed sometimes when i want to close my macbook, it makes this some sort of "cracking sound". It this a common macbook problem or is there a hinge problem. Hope anyone can give a solution!

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

Set Up a Genus Bar Appointment:

By your description, this may be a faulty device. Note that you have a one-year, out-of-the-box limited-warranty with this. So, ask Apple to look at it, at the store  Go Here: Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Contacting Appel Support:

Prior to brining this in, and prior to setting up the Genius Bar Appointment, contact Apple Support, asking them what is going on here.

Note: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
