Why can't get Apple TV shows to play in Chrome browser?

I have a subscription. I have the current version of Chrome. I log into Apple TV. I get to scroll shows, and yet when I select play it opens a video screen, but it will not play. Sometimes it displays the button to hit play or forward or back (not all the time), and even when I click on the buttons it will not play. I have tried this in Chrome and MS Edge browsers (both current, logged in).

I have no problem using the same account on my iPad, but when I try to use it elsewhere it will not stream. Why?
