MacBook Screen Flickering

Hi all,

I have a MacBook Pro 2016 (the model before the touchbar). Whenever I start my computer the screen flickers from the bottom as shown in the picture and is unusable. I I took this to Apple about a year ago and had them run a diagnostic test and they said nothing was wrong. My computer is getting to the point where it is unusable and I don’t know how to fix it. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi MorganMSUPack,

We understand you're experiencing some issues with your Mac's display. Does this occur on all screens including the startup screen? Does it occur in another user account? If you don't have one you can create one for testing purposes in System Preferences > Users & Groups.

If the answer is yes to either or both questions, we recommend resetting the NVRAM as it can fix display related issues. Here's how: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.

If it continues, the next step would be an SMC reset: How to reset the SMC of your Mac.

Hope that helps!
