I used Migration Assistant to configure my new MacBook Air from my old MacBook Pro. In Finder, when I try to access the location "Desktop" I get a message saying I can't access it because it can't be found. Any quick way to resolve this so I can use Desktop as a normal location for info?

Open a window in Finder. In the Sidebar, click on your username. In the list of folders, you should see the Desktop folder. Now drag the Desktop folder to your Favorites in the Sidebar
No problem. I know I telled you No Problem late but I was just waiting until my new iMac comes.
That seems to have done the trick. Had the same issue with the "Documents" folder and the same process also seems to have helped that. Imagine that - a Mac user for 6 years and I thought the items on the sidebar were fixed. Thank you.
