Airpods pro bass noise

I noticed today that my left airpod pro rattles and from what i can tell is its the bass, it happens if something is playing and when nothing is playing as well. The right one does not have this issue and seems to also be louder with voices than the left one. I looked up what might be causing it and it seems to be called “Rattlegate” . What does it sound like it is? And what are ways it can be fixed or replaced?

Hi there

Im sorry to hear that you AirPods aren’t working as they should

Rattlegate is problem that has affected a wide range of AirPods Pro’s. Some people say that it happens when your in noise cancellation mode, and the microphone’s are picking up tiny vibrations and trying to cancel them out. Which results in the rattling

If you could try playing the same music with noise cancelling off to see if the problem go’s away then play the music in noise cancelling to see if the problem is still happening.

If the problem still persists then you can do the following

  1. if your AirPods are still under warranty then you could take them back for a replacement or repair for free as this “rattling” is a huge problem
  2. There has been a service program started due to bad AirPods Pro’s. Go to this website to see if your eligible for a replacement :https://support.apple.com/airpods-pro-service-program-sound-issues
  3. If the last two Solutions doesn’t apply to you then you will have to pay for repair or replacement: go to this website to and select your country to see how much a replacement is : https://support.apple.com/airpods/repair/service/localeselector

I hope this helps
