Have you checked for the photos in "All Photos"? The "Days" tab is only showing a curated subset of the photos. Only "All Photos" is showing all of them. They are perhaps files under a different date then you expect.

Does someone else have access to your iPhone and could have deleted photos?

If you have been using iCloud Photos, the only option to recover accidentally deleted photos is the Recently Deleted album. Have you checked it as described here? If you're missing photos or videos in the Photos app – Apple Support (UK)

Have you checked, if there is a problem with your iCloud? If you have used up all iCloud Storage and are getting a warning about the iCloud storage, Photos can no longer access the photos in iCloud properly. In that case sign up for more storage, so you can safely access iCloud again and manage your photos.

There is no way for the users to recover photos, that are no longer in iCloud Photos and have been gone from recently Deleted. iCloud Photos is only saving the current state. And the iCloud backup of your iPhone does not save the photos from your iCloud Photos Library, because they are already in iCloud. If you have been using iCloud Photos, you can only recover missing photos from a backup you made on a computer, before the photos vanished. restoring an iPhone from a backup, can restore the saved photos. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support Are you backing up your iPhone regularly to a computer?

If you have no backup and cannot recover the photos from recently deleted, because they have become permanently deleted, contact Apple Support. Only Apple can access the iCloud backups and recover older items, there is a problem with iCloud.
