27" display mini displayport to Windows laptop

I have unexpectedly inherited a 27" Display (A1316) and was hoping to connect it to my Windows laptop. The laptop has an HDMI port, is there an adapter which will convert the HDMI on the laptop to accept the MDP plug on the display cable? I would be grateful for any help or advice.
