Mac mini m1 Flickering Screen

Hello,

so I got this m1 hoping it will help my photography business .

I've had flickering screen since day one.

I went through all the protocols and repairs with the Apple team

Still persisting .

I've managed to isolate some issues :

It happens when there are some deep contrast and very bring area on the screen . Blues, purple , black and white

I have a CURVE 4k screen. Not sure if that makes a difference

Its my second brand new screen I bought in two months .

I've bought many different cables. From top end to own brands.

Tried the Apple converter to TB still issue persist

I've changed resolutions

I re installed my Mac more than 12 times now

:(

I have the flicker and vertical line issue with a Dell 32" curved 4k display. I purchased a IPS 4k display and don't have the issue went away. I think the M1 Mini has an issue with VA panels vs an IPS panel.

On the monitor, turn off "auto anything", "dynamic anything", and "auto enhance" features especially anything related to black level on the display and manually adjust brightness, contrast and if there is a "sharpness" adjustment, set it to 50%. Then calibrate the display (which you should be doing anyway if you are a photographer).

Also, make sure that the Mini is set up to display at the monitor's native resolution.

In addition, if the monitor is set to some "display mode" (vivid, cinema, etc.) set it to manual and adjust as needed.

Try the above and see what happens.

Hello ,

that was my last explanation .

I believe you're correct :( I bought 2 screens already . Feels like a waste of money just to stay in the ecosystem of the m1 mini . I hope this can be fixed with a software update . Or else myself will have to get an IPS panel .

You reckon the issue could happen if I bought a Air m1 ? and use my VA curve ?
