Mac recovery mode

I am trying to reset my Mac mini. I see a screen that states “select an admin user you know the password for:”. I can’t use the mouse or keyboard to make a selection. My keyboard is a wired window keyboard. My mouse is wireless.

My Mac starts up to a lock symbol when I use command r or option command r How do I erase my Mac to reinstall and reset my password if I previously established a recovery key but have lost it. I’ve tried using the command r and command option r functions and it still starts up to a black screen with a lock on it.

Can not reset my password In recovery mode can not see "Forgot all passwords" option. It only gives me Erase Mac option. I bought and set my Mac up only yesterday. Don't know what to do next. To be honest spend a lot of time to set it up and don't want to erase it all. What can I do ? I have Macbook air on M1

Try plugging in a USB mouse and clicking Next.
