Iphone Notes are there, but the content of the notes temporarily blanks

Two folders of notes - icloud and gmail... Notes in icloud are fine; The notes in gmail are still there (you see the headline), but the content temporarily disappears, i.e. when you click on the note, it is blank... it typically comes back later - 30 mins or an hour - but I''m not sure what triggers the disappearance or the subsequent reappearance on the device...
