stuck dvd in external apple drive

Hi, I've read previous answers about stuck dvd and tried ejecting but this is a dvd with a paper print out of its photos as a label on the surface. the disc seems to be physically stuck for that extra fraction of a mm but it went in ok. Any ideas how to get it out ? No obvious hole to manually eject. thanks

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 10.13

If you haven't tried it already, restart your iMac while holding the mouse button down.

Please restart the computer while holding down the eject key on the keyboard. If you use a wireless keyboard, please plug in the cable you use to recharge the keyboard to ensure there is a good connection between the keyboard and the computer when you restart.
