Hi, my Mac runs MacOS High Sierra, version 10.13.6. I have installed and de-installed the Messenger app many times and it doesn't work (the app never ends up opening). Does it have to do with High Sierra?

Of course it's in the Applications folder, where else would an application on a MAC turned out to be? Info on it, version 97.11.116 and the size is 272,246,652 bytes (274.2 MB on disk). Why is the size important to you ?
Their AppStore page says 10.12 or higher.
What happens if you Right click on Messenger.app & chose Open?
Nothing.
Is it in the Applications folder?
Do a Get info on it, what vesion is it & how many Bytes is it?
Sometimes it might be in the Downloads folder.
Size & version was going to be so I could check the exact same one here, but my Data use is very limited & 274 MB may put me over for the month.
