I just want to know how to reset my Macintosh HD - Data passport , why it isn't my setup password?

disk password after restarting the mac I restarter my macbook air, and when i downloaded the ios it just keep asking for a disk password. I dont understand what the disk password is because i have tried my own password and no apple-id is connected to the mac.

MacBook Big Sur Unlock Macintosh HD-Data Hi, I factory restored my MacBook Pro and sold it someone. They messaged me saying they’re met with the prompt “enter a password to unlock the disk Macintosh HD-data.” I’ve factory restored my Macs several times and never had this problem. How do I clear my original drive? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Start up in Recovery Mode then reformat the drive with DiskUtilities, and reinstall macOS could solve your question.
