Orange Dot but no apps have access to toe microphone

The orange dot on the top of my phone was on all day, I know it means that the microphone is on. I looked at the control center and it said the microphone was used for “Unknown”. I went to my settings and made sure all of my apps had the microphone disabled, including siri, but the orange dot was still on… It wasn’t until i turned my phone off and back on that the orange dot finally went away. How can I see what was causing the microphone to be on all day? Was my phone hacked by a third party?

Hello seabeee,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with app access to your microphone.

First, check you gave them access: Control access to hardware features on iPhone - Apple Support

If they are allowed but can't access it, or it's grayed out, check if Parental Controls were accidentally modified to block changes to privacy or other settings and features: Use parental controls on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Cheers.
