Several problems with iMessage (iCloud, iPad, SMS)

Hello all,

I've been having several problems with iMessage for a few weeks now and hope someone can help me:

1.) iMessage logs off from iPad every few days. A new login is only possible after the iPad has been restarted. After that, however, the messages are no longer in sync and I have to completely deactivate iMessage (also in iCloud) and reactivate it. After about 20 minutes, everything is in sync again.

This is very annoying in the long run.

On the iPhone, the problems do not exist!

2.) In iCloud under Messages, the top conversations are suddenly empty (see screenshot). How do I get them back there?

3.) SMS are not synchronized. When I delete an SMS on the iPhone, I have to manually delete it on the iPad and Apple Watch as well, but iMessages are deleted everywhere.

Does anyone have an idea how I can get this fixed? The iPad has already been reset to factory settings. iMessage has been completely disabled on all devices once.

For the SMS syncing, on the iPad and Apple Watch, is your phone number listed in Messages?

Yes, in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Both numbers are listed and checked (on iPhone and iPad).

I would like to set up my iPhone once completely new, without iCloud backup. But I think I'll wait until iOS 15 is out.

Maybe that will solve the problems?

If it works as expected on the phone, it seems the problem is the iPad, not your Apple ID. Did you try the SMS syncing links I posted above? If you stop iCloud Message syncing, does Messages on the iPad work as expected?
