MacBook Air Charger Pins Burnt/pushed in

Hey so I have a MacBook Air 2013 and recently I'm having trouble charging. When I looked at the charger, 2 of the pins seemed to be pushed in and one had a black burnt ring around it. Also whenever it charges it gets REALLY hot, Like burning hot when you touch the charger. I can still charge, but with difficulty, I have to shove the charger in the Mac really hard and I will eventually get it to work after a few tries. Does anyone know how to fix it or will I have to buy a new charger? I think its because the pins are pushed in and its not touching.

There is a need to also confirm the status of 'other half' of your MacBook Air

MagSafe connection, since these can require attention once heat damaged.

The 'pins' are spring-loaded to maintain a connection, when these get hot &

stick; there may be need to have 'In/Out Combo' [DC-in Board] inspected, as

could require replacement. This through an AASP, who could replace it too.

An Apple authorized service or maybe a store genius(?) may be able to help

determine if the Mac's charge port has been damaged, too. The MagSafe port

has a few Support articles for MacBook. ~ If you end up having to attempt a

repair yourself, there are different part numbers for 11-inch/13-inch MB/Air.

For evaluation at an authorized Apple service provider, take both the MB/Air

and its MagSafe power adapter to have both inspected. Some shops do not

seem to realize the I/O Combo power port in MacBook Air, is separate from

the Logic Board. It is a serviceable part; does not require more costly LB.
