Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.
I believe we need to proceed with an EtreCheck report. EtreCheck is a useful App to diagnose and identify issues, both hardware and software. It is trusted by many users. Please follow the steps outlined below:

No Time Machine backup! • It is extremely important to have a Time Machine backup. If you don't have an external drive for Time Machine, consider a high-quality, desktop-class 7200 RPM external hard drive, such as an OWC Mercury Elite Pro - MacSales.com (OWC).
Also, did you upgrade to 64GB of RAM when you purchased your iMac, or did you upgrade it yourself? If the latter, what brand of RAM did you use and where did you purchase it?
Cheers,
Jack
