Problem with sound synchronization

When I mirror my MacBook Pro to AppleTV the sound does not synchronize. Please advise.

Screen Mirror sound from films only comes out over MacBook Pro speakers I have a 2017 Macbook pro running 12.5.1 and when I screen mirror or AirPlay to my Apple TV box the picture comes out but the sound is only via my Macbook's built-in speakers. This also happens when I try to use my AirPods and B&W P7's so abviously has nothing to do with either Bluetooth or wifi. And finally even if i mute the internal speakers the sounds still come out through them even without trying to airplay or mirror. I have restarted everything! [Re-Titled by Moderator]

AirPlay sync on Apple TV I have a video on my MacBook Pro. It plays in sync when I play it in QuickTime or VLC. If I AirPlay the video to Apple TV and set the MBP screen to mirror, and the audio to play from Apple TV, the sound is wildly out of sync. I press play on the MBP and the video starts immediately, but the audio doesn't. About a second later the audio starts and of course it's now way out of sync. If I throw the video to the Apple TV, but leave the audio output on the laptop speakers, the audio is in sync (or close it) with the video on the Apple TV. I press play and the video starts on the TV, and the audio simultaneously plays from the Mac. Clearly this is not the way the system is intended to be used. Can any one tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks very much.

I was able to resolve the problem by updating my Apple TV software. John

We understand when you're mirroring from your Mac to your Apple TV, the sound is not syncing as you'd expect it to.

Does this happen when you're using a specific app?

Is the content you're playing downloaded on your Mac or is it streaming?

Do you experience the same behavior after restarting both your MacBook Pro and Apple TV?
