MacBook not syncing contacts with iCloud

My MacBook Pro will not sync my contacts with iCloud. I've toggled it off and on, restarted, googled for answers and nothing is working. I enter new contacts a lot and don't want to have to do on my computer AND my phone when they should be syncing. I know that my phone is syncing with iCloud, it's just my computer. Hoping for an easy fix from this community. Thank you.
