My e-mail on my iPhone randomly stopped updating 2 weeks ago, what can I do about this?

What can be done about my e-mail not updating anymore on iPhone? It just randomly started happening 2 weeks ago. I go to the mail app and swipe down to update it but it doesn’t update. I usually receive several emails a day buts it’s been 2 weeks since I received any. I disconnected it from my iCloud and it still isn’t working. I went to fetch new data and it’s on automatically. What else can I do?

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Don't set it to manual, that way you will only pick up mail when you open the Mail app. Set it to something dependent on how much mail you receive and how important it is. If you receive mail sparsely during the day, then set it at longer intervals, it will use less data and battery. If you need to rely on mail more, set it more often, so you are getting your mail at opportune moments. It sounds like you received mail on wi-fi, but missed when you were on cellular data. Check to ensure you have cellular data turned on for Mail.

I currently don’t have any error messages. Ironically I received your reply in my email and an email from apple when I posted the question. I thought automatically was what it was set on by default. I never touched anything to do with mail when I got the phone and I’ve been receiving emails no problem. It just became a problem. I’m currently on my data, I’m not sure if that’s why it’s not updating but I actually did receive some emails this morning when I was connected to WiFi at home. But besides that there’s a gap and the last time I received emails was 8/5/21. Never had a problem with receiving emails through data before. I’ll look into setting the fetch to manual.
