Printing using WiFi

A plain ET-2700 is not listed, while the following models are:

• Epson ET-2720

• Epson ET-2751
• Epson ET-2756
• Epson ET-2760

The Epson specifications for the ET-2700 (https://epson.com/For-Home/Printers/Inkjet/Expression-ET-2700-EcoTank-All-in-One-Supertank-Printer/p/C11CG24201) do not mention AirPrint. So, unless Epson has somehow updated the plain ET-2700 firmware, AirPrint does not appear to be supported for this exact model.

You may want to try the drivers with a network connection (via a Wi-Fi router) instead of USB:

Please check the printer model. Do you possibly have an ET-27xx or WF-27xx series printer (the exact number may be important)?

Also, you may want to have a look at the article About AirPrint - Apple Support for a list of models supporting the driverless AirPrint technology.

The first step is to get the printer wirelessly connected to the router, which you may have done already (using WPS?). The network reports (page 28 in the https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd53991.pdf manual), directly from the printer, may be useful if you have to do some troubleshooting.

You would also have to check that the computer can detect the printer. You would have to add the printer. This can be difficult since drivers are involved.

In order to avoid any misunderstanding, your printer is an Epson ET-2700 (not one of the ET-27xx models mentioned in the AirPrint list). Correct?

If a printer is not an AirPrint model, drivers will be needed.

You may want to begin by resetting the printing system. Try to add the printer. Details can be found in the following articles:

Check whether the operating system suggests a suitable driver to use. If so, try that one. If not, it may become necessary to download drivers from one of the Epson downloads pages (links above).

If your printer supports AirPrint to print over Wi-Fi you may need to connect your printer to your wireless network or enable AirPrint. Review your printer owners manual. If AirPrint is supported and on, you should be able to connect to your Mac at System Preferences > Printers

Some routers - the Apple Airpot Extreme (discontinued) and I believe the ones now being sold on the Apple Store - have a USB socket into which you can plug any USB printer (which doesn't have to be wifi enabled). The system then fools a connected computer into thinking the printer is connected to it by USB and behaves accordingly.

If you have a Wi-Fi router, and the printer and the computer have been properly configured and wirelessly connected to this router, I cannot see why you would have to change anything every time you print (except for normal print settings, such as number of copies). Did you have something special in mind?

You're welcome! Just sorry that we did not find a solution to the Wi-Fi problem. Maybe you could take another look at the issue at a later time. Good though that the printer works via USB.
