Recall for iPhone 12 ProMax?

Has there been any sort of recall for the iPhone 12 ProMax for the overheating & screen dimming issue?

I was told it’s happening because the iPhone 12 ProMax has an OLED screen as opposed to the normal LED screen & this is what is causing the phone to overheat and severely dim the screen. It dims the screen in an attempt to not overheat to the point of needing to shutdown.

I personally do NOT see that much of a difference between the OLED & the LED screen quality. Probably because the OLED screen is always so freaking dark (because the phone is overheating) I can hardly see it anyway! LoL

This is the most expensive iPhone I’ve ever owned and yet the WORST one I’ve ever owned too.

Obviously Apple Should know by now that this overheating/screen dimming is a BIG issue & should’ve either issued a recall on these models to switch out the screens for those of us that want to & or create some sort of after market cooling pad that you can put on the back of your phone between your phone & your case.

Nudge, Nudge any inventors out there reading this??? 😋

If anyone knows of any sort of recall where I could get the screen replaced with a regular LED screen or it they know of some sort of cooling pad or something like that I could buy so that it doesn’t overheat I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading all my rambling, lol

There is no need for a recall on phones still in warranty.

You should arrange a service or repair

Anything other than Screen or Battery may be a replacement phone and the price is in the article.

I DID take it to an Apple store Genius Bar “specialist” and they said the darkening of the screen was a built in thing that the phone does to try & protect itself from overheating. I then said if it doesn’t have an opportunity to pull down it will eventually just over and shut itself down, which has happened to me a couple of times. They basically said there was nothing I could do about it & it was because of the new “fancy” high def OLED screen creating more heat than the previous LED screens.

Is there a way that I can just have my screen switched out for an LED screen on a 12 ProMax so that I don’t have to mess with this problem?

Yes, I could’ve misremembered and should’ve said LCD instead of LED & maybe they told me OED (?) instead of OLED (but I’m pretty certain they said OLED) I have no idea what any of those things mean except that my screen goes so dark I can barely see anything in it. Especially the instant I step outside. I live in Texas, so you know if heat is its biggest downfall, than these this model of the iPhone should probably not even be sold here or in Arizona. LoL

I will check out the article that someone sent me earlier & look further in to it. Because apparently I’m not supposed to be having this issue.

I would tend to have to agree; this is the most expensive (& supposedly best) iPhone I’ve ever owned, but so far it’s really been one of the worst, most temperamental ones ever!

thanks y’all for all the info and support.
