water damage on iphone 11 pro

Hey there! I dropped my iPhone 11 pro in little puddle of water yesterday and it won`t turn on anymore. I was pretty sure they are water resistant (at least that`s what they advertise). Phone spent in water less than 10 seconds too and depth was 3 inches tops! Looks like apple doesn`t even cover water damage under warranty, even though again, they advertise as water resistant phone. Is it fixable issue? worth wasting more money to try get it fixed?

Had slight water damage also to the iphone 11 pro (barely got sprinkled)

Screen stopped working.

Got the privilege of buying a new iphone 11 pro for $599.

Big mistake the just bought iphone 11 pro had issues and after 2 months of dealing with apple they sent a new iphone 11 pro.

This one drops calls and I am done with apple. I am rotating off all my 4 apple phones my 3 ipads, my macbook, my macbook air, my watch, and my air pods. Going to the dark side. Apple Support is not helpful at all.

"Slight" water damage is sort of like being slightly pregnant. It is a binary thing. While you had it out in this barely sprinkle obviously water did get inside the iPhone and your display unit failed since water and electricity don't play well together. And it isn't covered by the warranty unless you purchased AppleCare+ which you didn't.

So as you are buying your new phones and tablets, etc. be sure to read the complete warranty on them to see if there is a warranty for water damage. If not when you are out in a barely sprinkling situation you will be in the same spot. And lots of phones drop calls which usually has more to do with location and the cell service provider rather than the phone. Be sure to check support forum site for whatever phone you are considering buying to see if they are problem free prior to purchase.

This is a user-to-user technical support site operated by Apple, no Apple management is here to read your comments. I'm not sure what you expected Apple Support to do with your water damaged phone that would be helpful other than an out of warranty replacement. As for me I really don't care what type of electronic devices you purchase and use, buy whatever meets your needs. But there is no nirvana out there.

Water resistance is not the same as water proof. Regardless, the drop may be the culprit here and not the water. Regardless, I still suggest that you make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options. If you elected to obtain an AppleCare+ plan when you purchased this phone, this may be treated as one of the two "accidental" incidents, and any repair or replacement, should come at a reduced cost.

Thanks for reply. I have fixed water damaged iPhone before years ago. I believe it was iPhone 7(?). But I`m aware it depends what parts were damaged and most likely won`t be fixable.

We don't even discuss DIY or third party repairs here. Apple will simply not attempt to fix an iPhone where the liquid detectors such as in the SIM tray have been triggered red.
