Migrating to a new iMac (M1 silicon)

Is it quicker to migrate an old computer to a new Mac using time machine or via wireless connection?

One thing to keep in mind is that the instructions for Migration Assistant say you can do the transfer via Wi-Fi. For some people this will work just fine. For others, no. What can happen is that Wi-Fi's transfer speed may be too slow for these very large files and corruption may occur, causing the file not to complete it's installation. Using a wired USB connection will ensure this does not happen.
