M1-compatible USB hub?
Hi:
I'm in need of an M1-compatible USB-C hub with at least 4 USB-3 ports. Any (proven) solutions?
Thanks!

You don't want an unpowered hub. If the connected peripherals draw more power than the Mac's port can handle, you'll get a message from the OS there's too much power being drawn and it will refuse to attempt connecting all of the devices on the hub. If the draw is high enough, the OS will disable the port to prevent damage to the circuitry.
It's not the prettiest (though what hub is really all that good looking?), but we have one of these attached to each or our 2018 Mac Minis.

Lots of ports for peripherals (blue) and four (red) charging, non data ports.
Be aware, that any hub that is not self powered will draw power from your MBA and most when connected like that can have greatly reduced power available for devices connected to it. So, depending on those 4-5 devices, you may not even be able to use them all.
Look on Amazon, there are many.
There are few to choose from.
For myself, I have few criteria --
OWC carries various hubs with good reputation, however, I went with Thunderbolt Hub instead, due to its different ports (such as another TB3, ethernet, card reader ...etc).
Thanks for the reply & the suggestions! Funny - I actually have the reverse criteria - I'm looking for one that will get its power from the Macbook (and therefore wont be able to power it). OWC does have some like that, but they max out at 3 USB-3 ports & I need 4 or 5.
