Low Data Mode can be triggered by accessing the Wi-Fi Network’s information (properties). You can open Settings ➔ Wi-Fi : Your Wi-Fi networks will be listed to the right. Tap on the blue (i) next to the Wi-Fi Network’s name and that will bring up the sub-menu with the option to turn Low Data Mode ON or OFF.

Low Data Mode can also be triggered by accessing the Cellular portion of your iPad, if you have an iPad with cellular capability. Open Settings ➔ Cellular and you will see Low Data Mode in the Cellular options.

If you have cellular service on your iPad then Low Data Mode can also be triggered by your cellular service provider based on its service and requirements. It may have data limit constraints on your account. Please contact your carrier for more information.
